グラバー園は、長崎港を見下ろす南風崎町にある、旧グラバー住宅を中心とした観光施設です。スコットランド出身の貿易商トーマス・グラバーが1863年に建てたこの洋館は、日本最古の木造西洋建築として国の重要文化財に指定されています。園内には他にも旧リンガー住宅、旧オルト住宅など復元された洋館が点在し、当時の国際色豊かな暮らしを偲ばせます。ハートストーンと呼ばれるハート形の石を探しながら散策するのも楽しいです。

長崎新地中華街は、日本三大中華街の一つです。横浜や神戸の中華街に比べると規模は小さいですが、長崎独自の「ちゃんぽん」や「皿うどん」の発祥地として知られています。中華街の中にある「江山楼」や「四海樓」は、ちゃんぽん発祥の店として有名。太い麺と濃厚な豚骨スープに海鮮と野菜がたっぷり入ったちゃんぽんは、長崎を訪れたら絶対に味わいたい一品です。
長崎市内の移動には路面電車（長崎電気軌道）が便利です。一日乗車券（500円）を購入すれば、主要な観光スポットを効率良く巡れます。グラバー園、中華街、大浦天主堂を組み合わせた半日コースが、初めての長崎観光にはおすすめです。
